How To Flip iPad An iPhone Photos

Apple automatically flips selfies after you take them - here's how to flip iPhone photos back, or take mirrored photos in the first place.

You’ve just taken a great selfie, one worthy of millions of likes on Instagram, but there’s one problem: your iPhone has automatically flipped the photo after you took it. Fortunately there’s a way to fix this problem and we’re here to guide you through the process.
For those that are unaware, the front-facing camera on an iPhone shows you a mirrored image when you're preparing to take a photo. It makes it easier to rearrange yourself and your friends in the shot, because you're used to seeing yourself in a mirror.
When you take a photo, the image will then automatically be flipped horizontally to an un-mirrored image. This is great if you’re trying to show text on a selfie shot, but can be frustrating, because it won't look quite like what you saw when you took the photo.
There are two ways around this: either directly taking a mirrored selfie; or taking a photo with the included Camera app, then editing the photo after. We’ll go through our recommendations for both options.

Taking mirrored selfies:

Straight from the get-go, you might be looking for an alternative to the default camera app which is dedicated to taking un-mirrored selfies. The app Mirror, as the name suggests, provides you with a mirrored image of yourself.

The app is extremely easy to use: you simply tap the screen when you want to take a photo, at which point you’ll be able to save or share it directly with friends and family.
Mirror does have adverts, which at times can be distracting, but if you use it quite a lot and would like to get rid of them, you can do so for £2.99 through an in-app purchase.

Flipping un-mirrored photos:

If you’ve already taken a photo and don’t wish to take another, you might be wondering if there’s a way to edit your current photo. As you might have guessed, there’s an app for that.

The free Adobe Photoshop Express gives you the ability to mirror selfies at the touch of a button, along with a host of other editing features you'd expect from a Photoshop app. You can also use it to take photos too, and then edit them within the app, but the camera isn't as full-featured as Apple's own app.
There are also plenty of other great camera and photo editing apps for the iPhone that will give you the option to flip selfies to appear mirrored, so check them out if you want a few more options.
