Apple has recently purchased expensive equipment to produce a certain type of circuit board for the iPhone, after a manufacturer discontinued.
iPhone 8 parts
Tim Cook 's company does not use the equipment itself, but leases it to third parties. This makes Apple realize that enough spare parts are made to market the iPhone 8 in a timely fashion. That writes The Korea Herald .
According to the message, the necessary equipment costs tens of millions of dollars, but it is the indispensable tool for producing 'rigid flexible printed circuit boards' for the iPhone 8 . With these printed circuit boards, important components of the iPhone, such as the camera and the screen, are connected. They save more space than normal PCBs, but are also harder to make.
Increase production
Apple decided to purchase the equipment itself after one of its three major suppliers retired from production. To ensure that the other two manufacturers can produce more, they are assisted by Apple, says a source of The Korea Herald.
Rumors are that Apple is struggling with the production of parts for the new top model, the iPhone 8. There would be, among other things, problems with making the 3D sensor. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has indicated that Apple may decide to release its new device one or two months later than planned. The iPhone 8 may be available only in limited edition at the end of 2017 and early 2018.
Latest iPhone 8 rumors
The iPhone 8 would be the third device Apple presents in September, next to the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus. The top device would only have an oled screen that runs through the edges of the housing. In addition, the phone may work with face detection to unlock the device. For the latest iPhone 8 news and rumors, check out our iPhone 8 release overview .
