New iPhone Wireless Charging Only After IOS 11.1 Release

This year's iPhone is given the ability to charge wirelessly, according to rumors. But the accessory mentioned above would not appear until the iPhone 8 is already on the market.

iPhone wireless charging delayed

That at least describes the generally well-informed Apple blogger John Gruber. On Twitter he writes: "I've heard that wireless charging works with an accessory, which is sold separately and may appear later." Gruber says that the charging pad may not appear until the launch of iOS 11.1 .
It's good to keep in mind that wireless charging for the upcoming iPhone has not yet been confirmed by Apple. In addition, Gruber uses the word 'possible', so the postponement is not entirely certain. However, the blogger compares it with the portrait mode of the iPhone 7 Plus . It just appeared with an update of iOS.

Only available after iOS update

Apple more often adds new features for the iPhone with an iOS update, even if that feature is already in-baked in the iPhone and ready for use. If the accessory arrives later, Apple will probably disable wireless charging until that time in its software. It is unclear whether Apple uses a standard that also works with other accessories.

Rumors have so far reported that all new iPhones coming out of wireless charging this year can make use of. It would be about the iPhone 7S , 7S Plus and the iPhone 8 . Apple would choose the same way of charging as at the Apple Watch, with a loose accessory to charge the device.

Glass housing

The well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities reported last week that the three iPhones get a glass case. This allows wireless charging.
